We recently had the pleasure of collaborating with award-winning Architects
Patchwork Architecture and owner-builders of this 10 x 10 sqm newly built family home. Located in Kilbirnie, Wellington, steep access to properties is something we are very much accustomed to, and this site did not disappoint!

Amsterdam Sofa

The Amsterdam sofa's low profile designed by Henrik Pedersen, makes sense in this modern home. with loose back cushions that can be adjusted to suit each individual - suiting this family of three to create a comfortable space for everyone in the family

The Details

This collaboration between builder-owners Adam and Alicia Dorset and Patchwork Architecture resulted in a complex build with sleek silver anodised aluminium cladding, Tasmanian Blackbutt cabinetry and American Oak floor and ceilings.

Intricate bespoke detailing throughout the house included French tiled walls in the kitchen, bathrooms and fireplace, to create nooks in soft blue, green and charcoal hues.

The Amsterdam Sofa is custom-designed with an open-end to encourage a relaxed style of comfort. The clean modern lines paired with undeniable comfort really stood out for our clients.

Dusty Green Velvet

Available in thirteen different colours the Dusty Green Velvet was the clear winner, for its ability to complement and reflect the materiality of the fireplace tiles while offering durability and a soft lux feel.

The low maintenance of our Lux Velvet means it holds up to the everyday life of a busy young family without compromising on a luxurious look and feel.

Our Adelaide Barstools in matte black, also designed by Pedersen, contrast well against the custom built dining table. The continuous lines of the stool base make for a great looking line up while also being gentler on the wooden floors in such a high use area.

This flexible zone means that while cooking, entertaining or when Adam has a client meeting - the curved backrest of the stool ensures support and comfort in all situations.

For the sunny days ahead, the Elba Outdoor set was our pick to withstand the elements of New Zealand coastal living. With sea salt, sun, wind and rain we really needed to keep in mind the location of this exposed site

Elba Outdoor Furniture

The Elba Outdoor table is designed in a high-pressure laminate which is both resistant to heat fluctuations and colourfast. We paired this with a UV resistant Elba Lounge Chair (also available in a dining chair style).

The open weave allows wind to travel through the structure, ensuring your furniture stays put, while the flexible weave moulds and contours for extra comfort. The design is stackable, which makes shifting and storing these lightweight loungers a breeze.
