Shared style in a modern townhouse in Hørsholm

We were asked to help a couple create their first shared home – a move-in that meant merging not just belongings, but two distinct styles. With high ceilings, striking architecture, and strong individual tastes, the challenge was clear: find a design direction they could both feel at home in.

Our role was to create cohesion without compromise – and turn this architectural gem into a warm, balanced space for two.

“Balancing two styles to create something natural for both is a welcome challenge – especially in a home with striking architecture. This project shows that clean Scandinavian design can still carry character and soul."

Signe Kok Nielsen, Interior Designer

Here’s how the design came together

Our brief

  • Unite two individual styles into one cohesive expression

  • Establish a visual flow across the hallway, dining area and living space

  • Work with steel details and a muted palette of black, grey and beige

  • Make use of the home’s high ceilings and strong architectural elements

  • Build in practical, integrated storage

Our approach

  • A modern Scandinavian foundation with softened lines and warm textures

  • Subtle contrasts in materials, tones and forms to bring depth

  • Intentional use of vertical space to enhance the sense of air and light

  • Olive green accents and tactile surfaces to add balance and personality
