BoConcept Ishøj – Denmark

A new-build family home in Nærum

We were asked to help a couple with three children bring warmth, function, and flow to the home they’d just built with their architect – just north of Copenhagen. They wanted professional support with the hallway, dining room and living room, and invited us in early in the process to shape the interior around their daily life.

“We enjoyed working with Signe – she quickly understood our needs as a family with children, and she created spaces that are both beautiful and easy to live in every day.”

– BoConcept client

Here’s how the design came together

Our brief

  • Create a functional layout suited to family life with children

  • Align the interior with the house’s classic architectural language

  • Include ample, discreet storage throughout

  • Design spaces for both relaxed family time and social hosting

  • Choose colours and materials in line with a Scandinavian aesthetic, with openness to subtle contrasts

Our approach

  • A modern Scandinavian style with warm, natural tones and materials

  • Practical solutions with a focus on storage, without compromising on aesthetics

  • Emphasis on creating a cohesive flow throughout the home, where functionality and cosiness go hand in hand
